Technology is moving quickly and this is only speeding up the process of wild new inventions. Here are ten of the most incredible inventions to come out this year.
The future really is now!

The major drawback to owning a 3D TV is the fact that you always have to have a pair of 3D glasses available. With this new invention, you will no longer have to use 3D glasses to watch your favorite movies in 3D.

You probably already know what this one is because of the title. This is a real Jetpack developed by Glenn Martin of New Zealand. This cool device can fly for around 30 minutes and fly at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.

6. Flying Cars

Everyone in this comments area keeps saying “Iphone 5″ when it clearly says “Iphone 4″ in the article..which obviously means at some point the writer went back and changed the original. Truly the “greatest” when you had to change what you were even talking about based on comments.

The main reason I am even responding was covered by another poster, but I had to say something. You have the greatest invention of the year being an OK/moderate smartphone behind jet-packs, remote control cars and even FLYING CARS? A Phone is better than a flying car? And MAINLY, how come there is not a single link, reference, ANYTHING to verify this? I have never heard of a flying car exhisting in reality. It was “developed by college students” huh? Who are the students? They are embarassed to have their names mentioned in an article about the FLYING CAR they created? What college? How about a single picture? Even a concept drawing? We get a picture of the Jetsons and a lame report that “someone somewhere built a flying car. they live on planet Earth and are humans and this is really true”
That alone makes this article butt wipe worthy.

AHHAHAHAHA whoever made this is a failure.. no iphone 5, the 4s is a complete failure.. nothing on here is even important..

  3. Acadiana Websites

iPhone 5??? This was written in July 2011, The iPhone 4s is out but not an iPhone 5 (It is November 2011)

  4. iauolom

the only thing that distinguishes the iphon is just its name !
    although ios is cool

  5. Don

Find it funny too that the iPhone 5 is the greatest.. without knowing if the final details are.. well, final. And said new details are also robbed from Android to boot…

  6. Morely the IT Guy

The iPhone 5 is as important to technogical progress as the common garden-variety snail.

  7. Gadgetsage

What an iphony. You wrote this BEFORE they announced the actual specs of the iphone and named it one of the 10 greatest inventions?

Well, there goes your credibility – everyone knows apple steals everyone elses ideas.

And there’s NOTHING revolutionary about the iphone. 5,6,7, whatever, it will always be about 2 years behind the curve.

  8. JremyDeaton

Really? iPhone 5: ” the best invention this year”? Yeah, OK. There is also this movie coming out this year, where the full cast or plot hasn’t been confirmed and there may or may not be a script… BUT… It WILL win the Oscar for best picture. Idiot!

  9. LMAO

I agree it’s ridiculous to have iPhone 5 in this list, since nobody knows how will it be. So why will it be revolutionary? Just because it’s Apple? Fanboys… ¬¬

Also, you say “Some of the features Apple described were revolutionary”. What are those features? Apple still hasn’t described anything!

On the other hand, the #3 picture is not the Google Prius car, but just the regular Google Street View car (a normal car driven by a person, with some sophisticated cameras on top to take pictures for the Street View feature of Google Maps/Earth).

Also, a link in some pictures would be useful. In #6 you talk about a flying car “developed by college students”, but you don’t give any name, reference or even picture whatsoever (just a jetsons pic). So you could have as well made the entire thing up.

All in all, a pretty poor article :-(

  10. Kervs

“The newly announced Apple iPhone 5 has to be the best invention this year”. Another Iphone Lover. Tsk… it is not out yet and everything is hear say. It doesnt belong in the coolest invention list, If you comparre phone right now, Samsung galaxy kicks arse, it would whoop Iphone arse from here to Timbuktu

  11. colodude

Not to ping on Mark WSD, but when I saw the JetPack, I envisioned hundreds of Darwin Award winners hurtling into cliff sides at 60 mph and doing Wile E. Coyote moves down canyons at twice the speed…..

  12. Captain Obvious

I find it interesting that you call the iPhone 5 the invention of the year, and talk about the features Apple announced, when they haven’t actually announced it yet, or even confirmed any features.

I’d talk about jumping on the bandwagon, but the bandwagon isn’t even here yet and you’re already jumping.

  13. Mark WSD

I Cant wait for when Jet-Packs will be available in stores, thats gonna change the way we transport ourselves, I know i will have one!
